![]() Vestry Committees To learn more about ministries, contact the Church Office. Building and Grounds Co-Chair: Lynn Hutcheson The Buildings and Grounds Committee reports to the Vestry on issues concerning the real estate that has been entrusted to our stewardship - Grace Church, Grace House and the Parish Hall in Silver Spring, and the Day School campus in Kensington. This Committee works closely with the Junior Warden who traditionally has been responsible for building maintenance and budget issues. If you have a Maintenance Request for the Committee, you can submit it online to Parish Administrator. Budget and Finance Co-Chair: Kent Kester Description forthcoming. Endowment\Investment Committee Chair: To Be Determined The Endowment\Investment Committee seeks to expand the opportunities made possible by the generosity of parishioners and the wise fiscal management of the past Board of Directors and past vestries. The committee is charged with developing a coherent strategy for investing and managing the fiscal investments of Grace Church in accordance with policies set by the Vestry. Music Committee Chair: Kent Kester Description forthcoming. Personnel Committee Chair: Richard Shackleford The Personnel Committee advises the Rector on almost every facet of personnel: contractual requirements of staff, salary, and benefits. The committee also conducts a mutual ministry review with the Rector every two years. Stewardship Chair: Cherisse Robles Stewardship is the ministry of Christian caring for the gifts of time, talent, and money that God has given us to use. The Stewardship Committee oversees a year-round effort designed to create awareness that stewardship is a vital part of our Christian life and also guides the Every Member Canvass in the parish. Everyone is encouraged to work toward the tithe and to give out of thanksgiving to God for the gifts given to each of us. The Stewardship Committee also sponsors the annual Parish Harvest Dinner, and it sponsors programs supporting the concept of planned giving in the parish. Meetings are generally held the second Sunday of each month at 12:15. |
